Skigaarden has been built through a good design process where the sum is greater than the parts.
Buildings and outdoor areas are loose so that an intimate, sunny, inviting and not least car-free area is created between the buildings. The outdoor area is naturally laid out between the houses as a yard area designed for our meeting places. When AP4 was to be designed, it was with the intention that Skigaarden would move on into a new era, a generational change is underway. The building will reflect a new era, but with respect for what has been built up over time. Emphasis will be placed on the good materials, dimensions that speak to the surroundings and the warmth that exists in the facility.

But the new era also brings with it a different design language and a focus on bring nature and the view into the apartments. The building is designed as a tailor-made project where exterior and interior interact and create spaces where light streams in through large windows, where benches are integrated into the window frames, where openings between the rooms expand the space and where each living room has light from at least two sides. The goal is that when you enter you should still be outside in the dramatic landscape that frames Skigaarden.
